The Most 4 Common Right Arm Pain Causes

There are many causes of pain in your right arm, most of them occur when you use it more than normal and the muscle gets strained.  You can also have pain in your right arm by hyper-extending it, you can do this when you sleep, or during sports activities or other activities that could bend your arm back the wrong way.

Here are the most common four causes of the right arm pain:

Contents

Angina

There is also something else called Angina, this is a condition that happens because there is a lack of oxygen to the heart muscle.  Other symptoms of Angina is Tightness, heaviness, discomfort, pressure or burning, numbness, or aching in the chest, back, neck, throat, jaw, or arm.  Angina is a warning sign of a blocked artery in the heart that is limiting the blood flow to the heart muscle.  The pain is usually worse during physical activity and will go away when you rest.  It is recommended that if you have these symptoms you should go to the emergency room.

Tendonitis

Another thing that causes pain in your right arm would be tendonitis, this is where excessive stretching of the tendons in your wrist, elbow, shoulder and stretched and get microscopic rips in them.  Normally wearing a brace, and taking anti-inflammatory medication will help the pain and swelling, but there are some cases where you will have to have surgery to fix the problem.  Cold compresses will also help the pain, and be swelling as well, but if you experience the pain for more than a couple weeks you should go to a doctor and get it checked out.  They will tell you to wear the brace that you get if you want it to heal.

Twisted Your Neck/ Back Wrong

Besides something actually being wrong with your arm, there are other parts of your body that will lead to pain in your arm.  If you twisted your neck wrong, or if you twisted your back it could affect your right arm.  Anything from pain to numbness can be a cause to you doing something to your back, or neck.  If the problems persist I recommend you going to see your family physician, and getting your back checked out.  You could also go to a chiropractor as well, they have the technology to determine if you have hurt your back or not, and could even make it better that day.

Bruises

There are other things that cause pain in your right arm.  But most of them come from something that happened.  Like if you hit something with your arm and get a bruise, it may happen days after and you could forget that you even hit anything.  A lot of the pain in your right arm is OK, but there are some warning signs that you should watch for to make sure it isn’t something serious.  If you have the pain more than a few days without something showing up in an affected area like bruising, that may be something more serious.  Generally, things that aren’t serious only last a couple days, a week at the most.  If you experience pain more than a week I would recommend going to a doctor and getting it checked out.
